RaceTrac Rewards Is Getting Reward-ier

RaceTrac Rewards is changing to be more personalized and more rewarding for members like you.

As of March 2025, RaceTrac Rewards is shifting to a yearly status qualification. That means you’ll need to reach the annual point minimum for your current Reward tier each calendar year (January 1 to December 31) to keep your status through the following year.

So to maintain or upgrade your benefits through 2026, you’ll need to meet the new tier thresholds before the end of the 2025 calendar year. And to help you get there, we’re making it easier than ever with restructured tier thresholds, plus a brand new 5th tier:

0-149 point for tier 1, 150-699 for tier 2, 700-1399 for tier 3, 1400-3999 for tier 4, 400 plus for tier 5

Any points earned since Jan. 1, 2025, will count toward your 2026 status. If you have RaceTrac Rewards status before March 2025, your current benefits will be honored through Dec 31, 2025.
And rest assured, there are no changes to how your redeemable points operate. You can keep using these to redeem rewards, without affecting your status, before they expire on a rolling 365-day basis.

New: The tier drink benefit is going large (or any size you choose), with an upgrade to redeem your freebie for any size fountain or frozen beverage, with increasing frequency per tier. Hot coffee can now only be redeemed for points via the rewards catalog.

If you had a tier drink benefit prior to March 2025, don’t worry: the current frequency you can claim a free drink will be honored through Dec. 31, 2025. Here are the new tier drink benefits moving forward:

Why did my status change?

Starting in 2025, RaceTrac Rewards members need to requalify for their status each calendar year. If you didn’t earn enough points to maintain your previous tier, your status was updated to match the number of points you earned. We understand changes like this can be surprising, and we’re here to help if you have any questions about your current status or how to earn points toward your next tier.

What are the point thresholds for each tier?

We've adjusted our tier thresholds to make them more attainable within a year, and introduced a new 5th tier to set your sights on:

Tier 1: 0-149 points
Tier 2: 150-699 points
Tier 3: 700-1399 points
Tier 4: 1400-3999 points
Tier 5: 4000 points

How do I track my current status?

Monitoring your status is easy with the status tracker in the RaceTrac app. Check your points in real-time and stay on top of your status goals all year long. Psst: you can find it under the “Rewards” tab in the “Status” section!

What do I need to do to maintain status?

To keep your status, you’ll need to earn the minimum number of points for your tier during the calendar year (January 1 to December 31). Once that minimum is reached, you’ve done it! You just earned your status for the remainder of the calendar year, as well as the following full calendar year. From there, it’s rinse and repeat; simply requalify again each year to keep your status going. We’ll be here to help you rack up as many points as possible during this transition: stay tuned for exciting points opportunities (like exclusive offers and bonuses) to fast-track your progress.

What happens if I don't requalify for my current tier?

If you don't reach the point minimum for your current tier, your status will move to the tier that corresponds with your earning activity. So you’ll still have access to plenty of great benefits and offers, no matter your rewards status. Plus, you can always move back up in the ranks by earning enough points to qualify for a higher status in the future.

What does this mean for my points?

Any current available points you have to redeem are safe and sound. Point earning is still the same, too, with an accrual rate of 1 point per gallon of gas purchased and 4 points per $1 spent inside on qualifying purchases. Just a reminder: your existing points will remain valid according to our current points expiration policy, where points expire one year after earning. And as always, points redeemed toward rewards never negatively impact your status. Earned points will always count toward your yearly status, even if you later redeem those points for a reward.
